    The PT4161LRS is a state-of-the-art PCI Express Gen-4 x16 Smart Retimer developed by Astera Labs. It seamlessly integrates between a Root Complex and End Points, extending the reach by over 28dB at a speed of 16GT/s. This compact and efficient device offers superior signal integrity performance with minimal support circuitry and integrated AC coupling capacitors, reducing the solution size while enhancing performance.

    The PT4161LRS boasts receiver and transmitter performance that exceeds PCI Express base specification requirements, and it does not require system software. It is designed with an optimized BGA package for board routing and features an integrated AC coupling capacitor that improves signal integrity. Additionally, it supports hot-plugging, lane-edge timing and voltage adjustments at the receive end, SRIS, SRNS, and common clock systems.

    The PT4161LRS also offers advanced features such as loopback support, system and lane reversal with automatic polarity correction, and low power consumption using advanced CMOS technology. It includes an HCSL reference clock output that eliminates the need for clock buffers to drive downstream PCIe devices.

    Furthermore, the PT4161LRS is equipped with full-featured C and Python SDKs for rapid integration of advanced diagnostic features, and it can be configured via SMBus or EEPROM. It also supports AC-JTAG boundary scanning and is pin- and register-compatible with other retimers, making it easy to scale performance to PCI Express Gen-5.
