The HMC788ALP2ETR is a high-performance RF (Radio Frequency) gain block MMIC (Monolithic Microwave Integrated Circuit) amplifier. Operating from DC to 10 GHz, this amplifier utilizes GaAs (Gallium Arsenide) pHEMT (pseudomorphic high electron mobility transistor) technology to provide exceptional performance.
With a gain of 14 dB and an output IP3 (Third-Order Intercept Point) of 33 dBm, the HMC788ALP2ETR is capable of handling strong signals without generating excessive distortion. It also features high output power, with up to 20 dBm of output power available. The amplifier is packaged in a compact 2 mm x 2 mm LFCSP (Lead-Frame Chip Scale Package), making it ideal for surface-mount applications.
The HMC788ALP2ETR can be used as either a cascadable 50 Ω gain stage or to drive the local oscillator (LO) port of many single and double balanced mixers from Analog Devices, Inc. (ADI). Its high input linearity and low noise figure make it suitable for a wide range of applications, including cellular, 3G, LTE, WiMAX, and 4G LO driver applications, microwave radios, test and measurement equipment, and ultra-wideband (UWB) communications.
In addition, the HMC788ALP2ETR offers excellent gain stability over temperature and reduced sensitivity to normal process variations, thanks to its Darlington feedback pair. This amplifier requires only 76 mA of supply current from a 5 V supply, making it power-efficient.
Overall, the HMC788ALP2ETR is a versatile and high-performance RF gain block amplifier that combines wideband performance, high gain, and compact packaging to meet the demands of modern wireless communication systems and other RF applications.
